According to “Asociación Mexicana de Cirujanos” there are 75 amputations each day, from which, according to “Limbs International”, only 20% of them have enough money to pay for a prosthesis and related services, a person with an low member amputation will spent about half million dollars.
This causes incapacity, decrease on mobility functions and a low life quality. Due to high cost of medical devices and services.
By the use of developed low cost dynamic prosthesis and new technologies to come, the know how of fitting services, a prior and posterior rehab process, plus support and care services through different partnerships with national and international organizations we propose a LOW COST INTEGRATED SERVICE FOR PEOPLE WITH A MOVEMENT DISABILITY due to low member amputation.
OUR MISSION IS TO ENHANCE EQUITY IN THE COMMUNITY BY INTEGRATION LOW COST DYNAMIC PROSTHESIS WITH FITTING, A PRIOR AND POSTERIOR REHABILITATION PROCESS AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH A MOVEMENT DISABILITY IN MEXICO.
OUR VISION IS TO GIVE TECHNOLOGY THE PURPOSE TO SERVE AND BE ACCESIBLE FOR PEOPLE WITH A MOVEMENT DISABILITY, REDISCOVERING HIS/HER AUTONOMY.
It works through a hybrid model, a non profit and a for profit, to be able to serve everyone with movement disability due to low member amputation.
At the non profit we look for government funds, donations and different contests to help people who doesn´t have money or just a small amount available to pay for it. Reducing the total cost of taking our program thru a social service with students as drivers for people (this reduces the transportation cost for the patient in about $250 USD) and other partnerships to get to them and tell them about our services. It outsources healthcare services to the for profit, at a lower price (we only charge our fixed and variable costs).
With the for profit, we sell our health services to direct consumers able to pay directly or with a financing model. We use utilities for the investment on new infrastructure needed for the non profit and/or for profit, research and development of new solutions for needs we discover by working with the community.
